SIGNS OF LIFE
Samy Snoussi x ZOUBIDA
Six monumental letters from an imagined alphabet - handcrafted in Fès.
We turn Samy's invented symbolic alphabet into human-scale sculptures you can sit on, climb through, and live inside.
Each letter is upholstered in Tarz el Fassi, Zoubida's signature jacquard fabric - a Fès weaving tradition over twelve centuries old.
Built entirely by hand, no machines. Our artisans had never made anything like this before!
Part sculpture, part furniture, part decorative object - all at once.
Make it yours
Available - Bespoke & Comissions
These pieces are available as they are, but also as a bespoke commission.
Each piece is made to order in Fès - the fabric, the scale, the letters. A single character for a corner of a room.
A full set for a hotel lobby, a gallery, a garden, a brand activation, a child's universe.
We are open to all forms of collaboration with institutions, architects, designers, collectors.
If you can imagine it, the hands in Fès can probably build it.
We mean that literally: the wilder the better!
About us
Sophia Kacimi (ZOUBIDA) and Samy Snoussi are two French-Moroccan friends who decided to build something neither had made before. No brief, no plan - just a shared love of each other's work, and a wish to see what happens when craft is given permission to go somewhere unexpected.
Samy is an urban designer and artist, working across sculpture, painting, and public installations. His invented symbolic alphabet - born from automatic writing - is the starting point for this whole collaboration.
IN THE PRESS
MARIE CLAIRE Maison
At first glance, the monumental forms of Signs of Life seem to belong to the world of collectible design: sculptural, meticulously upholstered, almost too beautiful to disturb.
